A key player on the value creation team, Brena Budiarti serves as Business Development and Partnerships Lead at AC Ventures, where she helps the firm and its portfolio establish strong working relationships with key industry stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
Her professional journey started at Citibank and The Palladium Group. These initial roles provided Brena with a solid grounding in business development and corporate operations, effectively equipping her for the fast-paced tech and investment industry.
Brena joined Gojek subsidiary Mapan in 2018 as a Strategic Partnerships Manager. While there, she honed her skills in establishing strategic alliances and driving key initiatives that would significantly propel Mapan’s growth trajectory.
Thereafter, she held a senior stint at Indonesia’s leading edtech startup Zenius, serving as the firm’s Head of Partnerships. In this role, Brena strengthened the company’s operation and cemented her reputation in the local ecosystem as a partnership and growth expert.
Brena joined AC Ventures in 2022 and believes that working in venture capital allows her to use her expertise to its full potential, extending her service across an entire portfolio and providing much-needed support to a wide range of businesses in Indonesia, allowing them to deliver impact at scale throughout society.
It is my mission to relentlessly pursue tie-ups that benefit the Republic of Indonesia. As a public servant in the private sector, I firmly believe that fostering partnerships between startups, corporates, and government entities can create a material societal impact for my fellow Indonesians.
By bridging these sectors, we can unlock vast potential for scalable solutions to Indonesia’s most pressing challenges – education, healthcare, economic inclusion, and more. For startups, these alliances can offer resources and institutional support. For corporates and governments, startups bring innovation, agility, and fresh perspectives.
I am committed to seeking out such partnerships, integrating diverse strengths to create a synergy that transcends individual capabilities. My vision is to leverage these alliances to drive social growth and development, uplifting Indonesian society at an unprecedented scale.
